Refund Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026. We aim for zero refund requests by setting clear expectations upfront. When a refund is due, we process it quickly and transparently.
This Refund Policy applies to all paid services on submitreturn.com operated by eEasy interMESH Private Limited. Read it together with our Terms of Service.
1. When you are entitled to a full refund
- Cancellation before work begins: If you cancel before we have assigned your case to an empanelled CA and before document review has started, you receive a full refund within 7 working days.
- Our error caused a re-file: If your return is rejected by the IT Department due to an error attributable to us or the empanelled CA, we re-file it free of cost. If you choose not to proceed with re-filing for any reason, the original fee is refunded in full.
- Missed deadline due to our delay: If we cause a delay that results in your return becoming belated (with consequent late fee under Section 234F), we refund the filing fee in full and reimburse the Section 234F late fee, capped at the late fee actually applicable to you.
- Service not delivered: If we are unable to deliver the agreed service for any reason within 30 days of payment, you may request a full refund.
2. When a partial refund applies
- Mid-process cancellation: If you cancel after document collection has started but before the return is filed, we refund 50% of the fee, with the balance retained for work already done.
- Scope reduction: If after document review it turns out a simpler plan was appropriate, we will refund the difference between the plan you paid for and the actually-applicable plan.
3. When no refund is due
- After filing is complete: Once your return has been filed with the IT Department and the ITR-V acknowledgment has been generated, the service is considered fully delivered. No refund is payable, even if you later change your mind.
- Outcomes from your information: Tax payable amounts, refund amounts, or notices arising from facts you disclosed (or failed to disclose) are not grounds for refund.
- Calculator-only usage: Calculators on submitreturn.com are free. There is nothing to refund.
- Government refund delays: Delays in the IT Department issuing your tax refund are outside our control and are not grounds for refund of our filing fee.
- Department-initiated notices unrelated to filing errors: Scrutiny, reassessment, or notices arising from the IT Department's own selection criteria do not constitute service failure on our part.
4. How to request a refund
To request a refund:
- Email support@submitreturn.com with the subject line "Refund Request — [Your Name] — [Transaction Date]".
- In the message, briefly state the reason for the refund and attach the payment receipt.
- We acknowledge within 2 working days and process eligible refunds within 7 working days from acknowledgment.
5. Refund timeline and method
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method:
- UPI / Net Banking: 3-5 working days.
- Credit / Debit card: 5-10 working days, depending on your card issuer.
- Wallet (Paytm, PhonePe, etc.): 2-3 working days.
Bank processing times beyond our control are not counted in our processing timeline.
6. Our on-time guarantee
On-time guarantee: If we miss the statutory ITR filing deadline due to a delay attributable to us (and provided you submitted all documents at least 7 days before the deadline), we refund the filing fee in full and bear any late filing fee under Section 234F up to the actual amount imposed.
7. Dispute resolution
If you are unhappy with our refund decision, write to our Grievance Officer at grievance@submitreturn.com. The Grievance Officer responds within statutory timelines under the DPDP Act (typically 30 days).
If still unresolved, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.
